During this session we:

  • Provided a brief overview of what a Federation Representative does

  • Explored the benefits of becoming a Rep

    • Professional development - discussed opportunities for personal and professional growth, including leadership skills, negotiation, and communication experience.

    • Support network - shared the connections individuals have with a larger network, allowing them to be a voice for their colleagues and gain a deeper understanding of organizational issues.

    • Personal fulfilment - the sense of accomplishment by helping others and representing their interests in key decisions.

In our final session we will consider why it is important for Specials to be trained to use Taser and what a PIP involves for officers.
