Stephen Parkinson
Director of Public Prosecutions - Crown Prosecution Service
Stephen took up his appointment as Director of Public Prosecutions for England and Wales on 1 November 2023, having spent the first part of his career in the public sector and then latterly in private practice.
Between 2003 and 2023 Stephen worked at Kingsley Napley LLP, becoming Head of the Criminal Litigation Practice Area in 2006 and then in 2018 becoming the Senior Partner. He left that role in April 2023 and was briefly a consultant with the firm prior to taking up his current appointment.
Before joining Kingsley Napley, Stephen was the Deputy Head of the Attorney General’s Office and held a number of other roles in the Government Legal Service and the Crown Prosecution Service.
Stephen is a BAME and LGBTQ+ Ally.
