Richie Murray

Deputy Health and Safety Lead, National Board member, Police Federation of England and Wales

Richie has been a police officer for 20 years, initially joining Hampshire as a special constable in June 1998 before moving to Cleveland Police where he spent most of his policing career.

Throughout this period of time, he has predominantly been a frontline police officer on 24/7 response and neighbourhood policing.

After becoming a local Fed rep at Middlesbrough, he was elected as the deputy secretary/treasurer in 2013 and the branch conduct lead before becoming the Cleveland branch secretary in 2019, holding both these roles until September 2022, having been a member of the National Council throughout that time.

On becoming a National Board member on behalf of region two, he has been elected as deputy health and safety lead for PFEW as well as taking on the welfare van working group.
