Phil Jones

Phil has been a police officer for more than 25 years and joined PFEW in 2011 as a work-based rep.  During this time, he specialised in misconduct, became vice chair of the Staffordshire Police Federation Branch Board and, in 2019, became chair. Having been elected to the National Board, he is the Co-Lead for Conduct and Performance. 

The policing landscape has changed significantly over the last twelve months and has seen changes to the Code of Ethics, Vetting and more recently the Home Office review, giving Chief Officers more powers to dismiss.  Phil has worked tirelessly to ensure the voice and views of the membership have been accurately represented to across policing.  It is fair to say the challenges are coming thick and fast, but he is committed to working through these with the principles for fairness and transparency at the heart.
