Leigh Godfrey

Post Incident Procedure Lead - PFEW

Leigh joined South Wales Police in 2001, initially as support staff in the role of Station Enquiry Clerk.  In 2004 he joined as a Police Officer, working on response in the heart of the valleys.

Leigh first became interested in the PFEW when he received excellent representation from his fed rep following an allegation of gross misconduct. He became a work-place rep in 2009, mainly dealing with misconduct matters, whilst performing his normal duties as community beat manager, before moving onto the priority policing team.

Leigh’s interest in all areas covered in his role as Federation Representative found him dealing with ill-health retirement, work-place disputes, equality matters, post incident procedures, performance and attendance, as well as all levels of conduct. He became a fulltime federation representative in 2017, soon becoming deputy secretary and secretary of South Wales Police Federation. Leigh joined the National Board in August 2022 leading in Ill-Health Retirement & co-lead in Post Incident Procedure.
