Khizra Bano

Khizra Bano is a former Chief Inspector at West Midlands Police, with whom she served for 23 years.

She was a longstanding and high profile advocate for organisational justice and community legitimacy, which included supporting hundreds of officers and staff in addressing unfair treatment at work. This work frequently brought her into conflict with a number of elements of her force.

In summer 2022, Khizra began to advocate for Becky Kalam. The subsequent sustained mistreatment by West Midlands Police resulted in her having to take ill health retirement in July 2024.

Khizra still supports former colleagues who continue to reach out with their own stories of discrimination and unfairness.
