Jon Carter-Lang

Acting National Board Member and Leicestershire Branch Secretary & Treasurer

Jon joined Leicestershire Police in 2004, serving as a response officer for much of his service. Throughout his operational career, he held various roles, including Area Car Driver, Public Order Evidence Gatherer and Detective in the Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit. In March 2015, he became a Federation Representative and later, in April 2019, he was appointed Secretary of Leicestershire Police Federation, a position he still holds. In January 2025, he joined the PFEW National Board as an Acting member.

As a Fed rep, Jon previously served as the Equality Lead for his branch, specialising in disability discrimination and assisting members with disabilities facing long-term sickness and subject to UPP. He also provided support to members with conduct matters.

Within the branch, Jon manages their local medical scheme, which caters to 3200 members from various forces. He actively mentors new Branch Secretaries and takes pride in the diverse Branch Council he oversees in Leicestershire. This reflects the positive reputation the branch enjoys among its local membership, attracting members from diverse backgrounds who are willing to represent their colleagues.

Jon is also the Chairman of Flint House Police Rehabilitation and a Trustee for the Police Children’s Fund.
