John Partington
National Secretary - Police Federation
John joined the police service in 1996 and was promoted to Inspector in 2005. He joined the Federation in 2008, and after serving in the Metropolitan Police Federation, he joined the PFEW National Board in 2017. John has extensive experience in pay discussions, allowances, pensions, and conditions of service having previously served as PFEW’s Deputy National Secretary. Academically, he holds a Master's in Social Policy and Criminology and an MBA.
John is passionate about improving the overall remuneration package that police officers receive, alongside ensuring improvements in wellbeing, equality, and health and safety, to provide better working conditions and a better work-life balance for officers. John states 'A good annual pay award is essential for officers given the erosion of pay. It is also important that we remain committed to reviewing and improving the allowances officers receive, especially when there is so much impact on their private life.'
