John has seen the brand grow from 2010 into the UK's leading footwear brand, helping officers overcome some of the issues with uniform - and specifically footwear.
After 45 years in the footwear trade, covering all aspects of manufacturing - including ladies fashion shoe designer in London in the 80s, John then moved into the world of Safety Footwear, and this has been his focus for the past 25 years. His role is to identify shortcomings for specific industries and how they can help overcome them.
In 2020 he carried out a substantial amount of in-depth research into today's Police footwear and uncovered significant shortfalls in specification relating to all competitors' brands, encouraging the development of Blackrock Tactical footwear to specifically help with the safety and well-being of members of the Police.
