Gordon Forsyth

Assistant to the General Secretary (Health & Safety)

Gordon Forsyth became Assistant to the General Secretary (Health & Safety) in April 2020.

Gordon joined Grampian Police in 1997 and has served in both Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire. He undertook roles in CID and Offender Management as well as having been trained in Public Order duties and as an Authorised Firearms Officer. He was substantively promoted to Sergeant in 2009 after various spells in temporary positions. Gordon served as a response sergeant at various stations across Aberdeenshire before a very short stint back in Aberdeen prior to becoming a full-time official. Gordon was elected to the former Grampian Joint Branch Board as a sergeants rep shortly before the creation of Police Scotland and he continued in that role as part of the North Area Committee. He received training in Conduct and Equality matters. In 2017 he was elected as the Chair of the North Area Committee and later took over as the North area lead for Health & Safety.
