Gary Shaw MBE

Gary is a former police office with over 40 years of experience primarily within the area of major crime investigation. He joined Northumbria Police in 1977, retiring on a national secondment as a Detective Chief Inspector in 2007. He then continued his national role as the National Interview until he took up his post at the University. He received an MBE in the 2009 New Year's Honours List for Services to Policing. That same year, Gary was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University for his work in investigative interviewing both nationally and internationally.
