Brian Jones
Vice Chair - Scottish Police Federation
Brian joined Lothian and Borders Police in 1990 and was stationed in the Scottish Borders. He transferred to the traffic department in 1995 and qualified as a class 1 Police Advanced driving instructor, and Crime Scene manager, In 2001 he was promoted to Sergeant and deployed to response policing. In 2003 he returned to the Road Policing Branch in Edinburgh and qualified as an RP SIO, in the same year he was elected as a Sergeants Rep in the Scottish Police Federation.
In 2014 he was elected to a full-time position and is currently the Vice Chair of the Scottish Police Federation with strategic responsibility, for SPF training, Health and Safety, Road Policing, and Members services. He attended his first ACPO/PFEW Road Policing Conference in 2007 – the days of CC Med Hughes, Acc Adam Briggs and Alan Jones (PFEW), and has previously presented on locus protection.
