Ben Hudson

National Detectives' Forum Chair - PFEW

Detective Inspector Ben Hudson is the branch secretary of the Suffolk Police Federation and Chair of the Police Federation National Detectives' Forum. He has been part of the forum for nine years and has locally and nationally, passionately supported and fought for the rights of detectives and the Inspecting rank.

Since March 2021 he has been vocal on the impact of the DG6 on all of policing and since August 2022 has led the SimplifyDG6 campaign on behalf of PFEW to try and bring about meaningful changes to the guidance and to the data protection and digital information act to help reduce the burden of redaction. Ben is now negotiating with the government on an amendment to the Data Protection Act that would allow the Police to pass unredacted material to the CPS pre-charge.
