NPCC Lead for Response Policing
Assistant Chief Constable Matt Boyle began his policing career in 1998 in Merseyside. He joined Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in 2023 and currently leads the Local Policing and Prevention portfolio. In 2025, he assumed national responsibilities as the NPCC lead for Response Policing. Matt is dedicated to providing Response officers with the best opportunities and support to serve communities and deliver exceptional service to victims.
With 28 years of service, Matt has extensive experience in operational and organisational policing leadership. He focuses on crime prevention, pursuit of offenders, community engagement, protecting the vulnerable and victim care. Matt is also committed to developing future police leaders and mentoring new commanders.
An experienced Gold public order and strategic firearms commander, Matt has led diverse events and continues to mentor newly qualified commanders to ensure public safety.
